Mineral Resources & Sustainable Exploration

Critical raw materials (CRM) are crucial for the green energy transition, however, there are challenges the mineral sectors are facing. To build up a sustainable mineral ecosystem, we need collaboration among the whole value chain of raw materials from exploration to mining, recycling and social and environmental sectors. In this event, we will focus on exploration which is the upper stream of the mineral value chain.

Organization

This event is co-organized by the MINEARC project (funded by Bureau of Energy Resources of US), and Horizon Europe Projects (SEMACRET, EIS, AGEMERA) and EIT Raw Materials project MinExTarget. In the near future, MINEARC together with other relevant projects, will organize similar events on the other sectors of the raw material value chain.

Goals & Aims

In this event, we hope to bring together a wide range of stakeholders in the exploration ecosystem, including research projects developing new exploration technologies, exploration companies, resource rich African countries, educational programs, regional authorities, as well as other interested stakeholders, to discuss about the mineral resource potential, current technological and societal challenges and possible solutions.

The themes include the following:

• Mineral system modelling for exploration
• Geophysical and geochemical exploration technologies
• Progress in exploration industry
• Mineral resources and exploration in Africa
• Education in mineral exploration and social awareness

The online meeting will comprise 15-minute oral presentations, followed by discussion time after each theme. Enrolment is free of charge, please fill the registration form below
