4th Consortium Meeting in Seville

Partners and members of SEMACRET project joined for the 4th consortium meeting hosted in Seville, Spain between the 9th and 11th of January 2024.

This meeting marks the halfway point of the project and was a pivotal moment for our multidisciplinary teams to convene, show their results and plan data integration towards the final portion of the project.

The morning of the first day consisted mostly of presentations of the various teams and was followed by a day and a half of numerous discussions between the teams. On the last day of the Consortium meeting, the consortium took a daytrip to the Rio Tinto mine, one of the largest open pit mines in operation today where the story and geology was explained by a geologist from the mining company. The day concluded with a visit to the Rio Tinto mine museum.
