This is the first publication fully devoted to the geology and metallogeny of one of SEMACRET study cases: The Ransko Ni-Cu-(PGE) mineralization in Czech Republic. This paper reports a comprehensive study including geochronology, isotope (Nd-Sr-Hf-Pb-O) and elemental geochemistry in barren and variably mineralized rocks.

Compositional variations indicate that the Ransko parental melts derived from metasomatized, Variscan sub-arc mantle and the Ni–Cu ores were emplaced through the gravity-driven percolation of dense sulfide liquids along previously weakened structures associated with the downward crystal fractionation. This work further establishes important links with other orogenic orthomagmatic deposit in in the European Variscan Belt and how local conditions during the emplacement and evolution of the parental magmas led to different metal metal contents.
