Project coordinator Dr. Shenghong Yang participated in the 12th lithosphere symposium organised by University of Turku in November. In the conference, he had a brief overview presentation of the Horizon Europe SEMACRET project. Raw materials are fundamental for green energy transition. The main objective of this project is to develop sustainable exploration methods for (critical) raw materials including mineral system modelling, and mineral exploration from regional to local scale. The SEMACRET project will also promote social awareness on raw materials and responsible sourcing through innovative approaches.

It is great to follow many interesting oral and poster presentations on recent progresses of lithosphere research and mineral exploration, and meet colleagues after a long period of remote meeting. Thanks to University of Turku for excellent organization of the event !
