Four European countries are united in SEMACRET project that was launched from Oulu University in 2022.

The consortium gathered in Oulu University (hybrid format) in 7 and 8 of June to officially mark the kick of SEMACRET.

Agenda & Presentations

The agenda included and overview by the EU officer and Project coordinator Shenghong Yang, the Project Manager Tiina Eskola and was followed by summaries of the planned activities by work package task and reference site coordinators. Most of the second day was devoted to discussion between members to articulate implementation and tackle potential challenges.

The presentations reflected the diversity in expertise and knowledge of the consortium, including (experimental) petrology and mineralogy, geophysics, hard rock and surface geochemistry, mathematical and prospectivity modelling and social sciences.

SEMACRET aims to promote sustainable exploration for green transition Critical Raw Materials in the EU securing the continued supply for its industries.
